Through Mayor Tait’s strong advocacy and collaboration Sooke has the reputation

of “punching above its weight”. She consistently has addressed challenges “face on” by seeking made in Sooke solutions, which are often well ahead of other municipalities.

It has been a pleasure and privilege to work with Maja over the past 6 years. Maja is a great advocate for Sooke. Tirelessly working to improve health services, housing, recreation and employment opportunities in Sooke. She is aware of the needs and works with community partners to help achieve positive and creative solutions for those needs.

~ Mary Dunn

From my perspective of both living and owning a business in Sooke, Maja Tait has done a commendable job keeping our community on an even keel through an incredibly topsy turvy 4 years. The professionalism she has shown under fire speaks volumes for her solid character and values. What is abundantly clear is that she thoughtfully leads the evolution of our community with a deep appreciation for the social infrastructure that our citizens both need and deserve.

~ Dr. Chris Bryant, Sooke, BC

A bright and strong candidate, Maja is a thoughtful and conscientious woman. She has strong values and cares deeply for her community. As these endorsements illustrate, Maja has represented us well in local, provincial and international arenas.

One of the most important areas she pursued is the relationship building with the T'Souke First Nation. In the efforts of truth and reconciliation, discussions are taking place for a kinder way to live and work together.

Another of her key strengths is building bridges, even with her opponents. She is caring, knowledgeable and takes no crap. She always challenges herself and others to give their best service for the public good.

Sooke and this region are fortunate to have a strong, active, experienced politician and it's my pleasure to endorse this bright, young woman for her third term as Mayor for the District of Sooke.

I have had the pleasure of working with Maja for the past six years.  She has consistently proven herself to be a dedicated and hardworking individual.

Maja’s ability to listen combined with her go getter work ethic has not only helped her community of Sooke but other organizations including the Union of BC Municipalities and the Local Government

Leadership Academy.  Maja is a person who leads by example and has represented her community well locally

and just as important at the provincial and federal levels.

Maja has put her heart and soul into our community, working in harmony with her team of leaders and District staff they have managed to secure some fantastic grants to improve our infrastructure and recreation facilities. She has made it her mission to work with other levels of Government to help build affordable housing and solutions to our health care crisis.  The next few years with Maja as Mayor I believe we will see many more projects completed.

Maja Tait is hands down one of the most approachable Mayors I have worked with as a trustee. She has always advocated vigorously for the needs of the youth in Sooke especially in regards the need for a new or replacement school. During this term the School District has been able to sign a Memorandum of Agreement which is important moving forward.

As a person living in this area, I am proud of her accomplishments, not only in Sooke, but provincially. Sooke is well know in a positive way because of its Mayor.

Maja has a strong vision of democracy, and of our community as we move forward, and I endorse her commitment for the next four years.

Maja Tait has been the mayor of Sooke since I moved here in 2015. She has done a great job balancing community growth while trying to keep Sooke's small town charm - hard feat in one of the fastest growing communities in BC! She has my vote again!

~Benjamin Kendrick

Meanwhile in Sooke

My vote is for Maja.  Maja IS Sooke - she's every person - the the businesses, the moms and dads, the friends and neighbours, the youth and elders, the elevated and marginalized.

What strikes me the most is just how much she cares. - how hard she works to listen to and champion the needs of every voice.

I think she's just remarkable.  Vote for continuity, energy, thoughtfulness, relationships and keep the right person at the helm.
